Telescope Skywatcher BK767AZ1

A very light reflecting telescope, ideal as the entry-level celestial observation tool for novice observers. It is the ideal model to introduce to the world of amateur astronomy and is often chosen as the first telescope. Due to the light output ratio of f / 9, this telescope is especially recommended for observing bright objects in the solar system, such as the Moon and the planets. This model will also prove useful when observing the brightest deep sky objects such as star clusters or nebulae.

Optical system

Reflecting telescope with an aperture of 76 mm and a focal length of 700 mm. The main advantage of this telescope is its compact size. The telescope with this aperture can see about 120 times more light than the human eye at night, providing the ability to observe objects up to nearly 11.8 magnitudes (with the naked eye visible up to 6 magnitudes). The size of the mirror is also related to the optical resolution, which in this telescope enables it to separate stars that are more than 1.8 ”apart. It is recommended to expand the set with an additional eyepiece with a focal length of 7-8 mm, which will be used to observe planets and the Moon, and another with a focal length of 30-40 mm to obtain a wider field of view.

Assembly

The AZ1 is a simple and lightweight azimuth mount. It is equipped with a special system for adjusting the vertical and horizontal position, making the observation and tracking even very distant objects simple. The mount is ideal for astronomical observations, but can also be used for basic terrestrial observing.

Focuser:

The telescope is fitted with a focuser that allows for the use of 1.25 ”eyepieces. The set includes two 25 and 10mm eyepieces with 28 and 70x magnification, and a Barlow lens with 57x and 140x magnification.

Ground observations

A telescope with this type of optics is not suitable for ground observation. To invert the image, use the so-called straightening lens, thanks to which we will reverse the image back (straight). Together with the straightening lens and the assembly it is placed on, it can be used as a simple ground observation device.
